2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Email address and password when you create an account.
  • Financial Data: Expense amounts, categories, vendor names, dates, and notes you enter manually or through receipt scanning.
  • Receipt Images: Photos of receipts you scan for AI-powered data extraction.
  • Voice Data: Audio recordings when using voice expense tracking (processed and immediately discarded).
  • Budget and Goals: Budget limits, savings goals, and income information you set up.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version.
  • Usage Data: Feature usage patterns, app interactions, and crash reports.
  • Subscription Data: Purchase history and subscription status (managed by Apple/Google).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Zentally service
  • Process receipt images using AI to extract expense data
  • Generate personalized spending insights and recommendations
  • Enable AI chat assistant functionality with your financial context
  • Send bill reminders and budget alerts you configure
  • Process subscription payments through Apple/Google
  • Improve our AI models and service quality
  • Provide customer support

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure with enterprise-grade encryption. We implement:

  • End-to-end encryption for data in transit (TLS 1.3)
  • AES-256 encryption for data at rest
  • Row-level security policies ensuring you only access your own data
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide our features:

  • Google Gemini AI: Receipt scanning, expense parsing, and spending insights generation. Receipt images are processed and not stored by Google.
  • Deepgram: Cloud speech-to-text for voice expense tracking. Audio is processed in real-time and not retained.
  • OpenAI: AI chat assistant for financial questions. Conversation context is limited to your recent financial data.
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management and payment processing.
  • Supabase: Database hosting, authentication, and file storage.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We only share data:

  • With third-party AI providers to process your requests (as described above)
  • With household members you explicitly invite (Family plan only)
  • When required by law or valid legal process
  • To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data stored in Zentally
  • Export your expense and income data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Opt out of AI insights and analytics features
  • Withdraw consent at any time

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Free accounts retain 3 months of transaction history. Pro and Family accounts retain unlimited history. When you delete your account, all data is permanently removed within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

Zentally is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of Zentally after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
